Appointed to Chief Executive Officer in December 2017, Jonathan Lewis is famed for guiding companies through periods of significant change. In the case of Capita, this involved overseeing the transformation from a traditional outsourcer to a world-class consulting, digital services and software business.

Before joining Capita, Jonathan was CEO of Amec Foster Wheeler, where the transformation he oversaw culminated in a £2.2 billion acquisition of the business by John Wood Group.

With over 30+ years' experience working for large, multinational companies in technology, his background includes 10 years managing and delivering commercial contract research projects for the international oil and gas industry, and 10 years in B2B software development and services in the US. 

In his early career, Jon held a number of senior academic positions at both the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London (NERC Research Fellow) and Heriot Watt University, where he developed and managed a successful commercial, contract research business primarily for the international petroleum sector.
