As well as being the Chief Economist of USB Global Wealth Management, Paul Donovan is also a member of the Global investment Committee, a UBS Opinion Leader, a sponsor of UBS Speak up and a UBS Pride ally.

Donovan began his career at UBS after securing an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a MSc Financial Economics from the University of London. During this time, he also became Honorary Fellow of St Anne’s College, Oxford, sitting on its investment committee, and he is a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Circle of Oxford.

It wasn’t until 1992 that Paul began his career journey as UBS Investment Bank Intern. From this he became Global Economist before moving to Global Wealth Management in the August of 2016. He is responsible for developing and presenting the USB economic outlook, marketing and their view on economics, policy and politics globally. He also represents UBS as part of the B20 Trade and Investment Working Group.

With all of this attention, Paul is a media professional, appearing in both print and broadcast media regularly and is an avid Tweeter about all economic issues. As well as appearing in media, he also creates his own. Paul co-authored several books covering topics from the financial credit crunch to the global economy. His latest book, ‘The Truth About Inflation’, was published in April 2015.

In addition to all of this, he co-founded the Peter Culverhouse Memorial Trust, which focuses on cancer research and patient care. But it’s not all business with Paul, he also enjoys skiing and is an amateur heavyweight boxer.
