The Coronavirus pandemic has challenged all organisations. Universities, as large and complex organisations that have remained 'open' throughout the last year, have adapted their systems, processes and delivery mechanisms to meet the needs of staff, students and stakeholders working on and off-campus in varying numbers at varying times. Hear from Professor Cara Aitchison, President and Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff Metropolitan University, on how she prioritised the physical, financial and mental health and wellbeing of staff and students from the outset of the pandemic to ensure the organisation continued to live its values, deliver its strategy of growth, diversification and improvement, be named The Times and The Sunday Times Welsh University of the Year and position the university as a driver of inclusive innovation to help businesses rebuild in a post-pandemic environment.

Professor Cara Aitchison is President and Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff Metropolitan University. She was previously Vice-Chancellor of Plymouth Marjon University, Head of Moray House School of Education and Chair in Social and Environmental Justice at Edinburgh University, Dean of Education and Sport at Bedfordshire University, Professor in Human Geography at UWE Bristol and spent her early career in London.
