JIM FRENCH
CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Jim joined Flybe in 1990, being appointed Commercial Director shortly after and subsequently becoming Deputy Chief Executive.
In June 2001 Jim was appointed as Managing Director of the airline and transformed the airline into one of Europe’s fastest growing and dynamic airlines.
Jim was appointed to the combined role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2005 and completed the acquisition of BAConnect from British Airways in 2007.
He was honoured in the Queen’s 2009 Birthday Honours’ list with a CBE for his ‘services to the UK airline industry’: and was voted Airline Executive of the Year twice in both 2002 and 2004 by regional Airline World and was made a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society in 2004.
Jim was born in Duns, Berwickshire in 1953 and lives with his family in Devon.
